Context: We are seeking an experienced Application Support Analyst to join a global Front Office Technology team supporting a leading financial institution's Fixed Income eTrading platform. The team provides production support for Rates and Credit electronic trading across global hubs in New York, London, Tokyo, and Singapore. As a front office support analyst, you will be embedded within the trading environment, owning incident resolution, platform monitoring, and continuous service improvement across a complex, high-availability eTrading stack, including the ION platform, in-house pricing engines, and algorithmic trading components.
Your Role:
Incident & Problem Management Own P1/P2 incidents end to end, driving root cause analysis and post-mortems Communicate with internal stakeholders and management during incidents and follow-ups Log all support issues in the incident management system with full detail and ownership Initiate and coordinate task forces for critical incidents Liaise with upstream and downstream support teams as needed Application Monitoring & Platform Coverage Maintain 99.9% global uptime across the Rates and Credit eTrading platform Monitor and troubleshoot production applications including: Market connectivity (ION), Algorithmic trading, Auto negotiation, Pricing engines, D2D and D2C flows, Booking systems Oversee system state and data correctness throughout the trading day; coordinate hand-offs with Follow-the-Sun teams Perform system administration and update production KPIsContribute to monitoring migration projects using Python scripting (e.g., SCADA-based monitoring)Knowledge Management & Documentation Maintain team knowledge base and support procedures on wiki Provide end-user training on application usage Ensure Follow-the-Sun and regional teams are trained on new releases Produce and distribute daily handover documentation to global support teams Service Improvement Proactively track trends in application behavior and escalate risks to development and production teams Ensure application support logs are meaningful and actionable Drive reduction of manual interventions through automation and enterprise tooling Release Management Participate in release cycles: functional validation on staging and production environments Review and coordinate deployments and post-release checks Communicate Release Notes to relevant stakeholders
What We’re Looking For:
Proven experience in application support within a Front Office trading environment Strong understanding of Fixed Income / Rates products and electronic trading workflows Hands-on experience with the ION platform and/or equivalent market connectivity solutions Familiarity with algorithmic trading systems, pricing engines, and STP workflows Proficiency in Python scripting for monitoring and automation Experience with incident management systems and ITIL-style processes Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under time pressure Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical problems to non-technical stakeholders Experience working in a global Follow-the-Sun support model is a plus This role offers a gateway into the heart of New York’s financial markets, with the chance to work closely with trading teams and cutting-edge systems in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
