Tax Advisory Manager

About the role
Manage tax advisory engagements for closely held businesses and their owners.
Provide tax planning, transaction structuring, due diligence, reorganizations, restructuring, and consulting services.
Identify and analyze tax risks and opportunities related to acquisitions, dispositions, and business transactions.
Conduct research on complex federal and state tax matters and develop technical recommendations.
Review tax analyses, memoranda, financial models, and client deliverables for accuracy and quality.
Lead multiple client engagements simultaneously while ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
Monitor engagement performance including workflow, staffing, utilization, realization, and billing.
Serve as the primary client contact and trusted advisor for tax strategy and business decisions.
Collaborate with cross-functional professionals to deliver integrated client solutions.
Lead, mentor, supervise, and develop tax professionals through coaching and training.
Review staff work and provide technical guidance and feedback.
Support business development and practice growth initiatives.
Identify process improvements to enhance client service and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
Active CPA license required.
5+ years of experience in public accounting, consulting, or professional services.
Experience supervising and mentoring team members.
Strong knowledge of tax planning, structuring, and advisory services for closely held businesses.
Experience with mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, and restructuring activities preferred.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
Familiarity with tax research tools and software such as UltraTax, GoRS, CoCounsel, and Thomson Reuters products preferred.
