Staff Accountant Opportunity Mid-States Bolt & Screw, a trusted local fastener distributor, is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our growing business and add to our great finance team! Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting business decision-making.
Key Responsibilities: Prepare and record journal entries in the general ledger. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts. Prepare sales tax payments/track and add locations. Assist in month-end and year-end close processes. Assist with internal and external audits. Assist accounts payable and receivable processes as needed. Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify discrepancies and variances. Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and policies. Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar financial role. Proficient in accounting software (Epicor P21, PowerBI, Power Query a plus).Excellent analytical and numerical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
