Schedule: Hybrid – Monday and Wednesday onsite, with additional onsite meetings as needed

Local travel required; mileage and business travel reimbursed We are working with a growing professional services organization seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business and expand client relationships throughout the DMV and Mid-Atlantic region. This is an individual contributor role for a true hunter who can identify opportunities, build relationships, develop business, and close deals. The ideal candidate will bring an established network of contacts throughout the region and have experience selling complex technical or professional services.
Responsibilities:
Develop and execute business development strategies to grow revenue throughout the DMV and Mid-Atlantic markets Identify, prospect, and develop new client relationships and business opportunities Own the full business development cycle from initial outreach through proposal development, negotiations, and project award Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, decision-makers, architects, engineers, contractors, and other key stakeholders Conduct both phone-based and in-person business development activities Leverage an existing network of contacts to generate new opportunities Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities Coordinate with technical subject matter experts to develop customized proposals and solutions Lead proposal development and presentations, ensuring solutions align with client needs Manage multiple opportunities and projects simultaneously Develop and maintain a strong understanding of market conditions, competitors, and customer needs Track activity, pipeline development, revenue, and other business development metrics Meet or exceed established revenue and business development goals Represent the organization at industry events, networking functions, client meetings, and other business development activities Travel throughout the DMV and Mid-Atlantic region as needed Target Markets Experience selling into one or more of the following industries is highly relevant: Engineering Architecture Facilities services Mission-critical facilities Pharmaceutical and chemical Energy Government Laboratories Data centers Construction Candidates from construction or other comparable project-based industries may also be considered if they have experience selling complex services or projects.
Qualifications:
Proven track record of success in business development, sales, or client development Demonstrated ability to generate and close new business Established network of contacts within the DMV or Mid-Atlantic market strongly preferred Experience selling technical, engineering, professional, or project-based services Ability to manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close Experience with projects or contracts valued at $100K to $1M+Strong history of achieving measurable revenue and business development goals Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills Ability to communicate effectively with technical professionals and executive-level decision-makers Strong organizational and project management skills Comfortable working independently and managing a territory and book of business Bachelor's degree strongly preferred Engineering degree or technical engineering background is not required
