About the role

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join a Steam Distribution Engineering group, serving as an Equipment Engineer supporting critical steam distribution systems. The hiring manager is particularly interested in an experienced engineer with a strong background in industrial equipment, equipment specifications/procurement, testing, troubleshooting, and steam or power plant systems. The position focuses on identifying, evaluating, specifying, testing, and supporting equipment used throughout the steam distribution system, including valves, pumps, traps, metering equipment, controls, and related mechanical/electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities: Serve as an Equipment Engineer supporting Steam Distribution Engineering. Identify and test new equipment such as valves, pumps, traps, and related equipment for use within the steam system. Prepare written technical and purchase specifications for new and existing equipment. Evaluate equipment performance, functionality, reliability, and potential applications within the steam distribution system. Provide support to Steam Operations through field and laboratory analysis of equipment failures, functionality, and performance. Support the selection, sizing, testing, commissioning, and implementation of steam system equipment. Develop and evaluate new equipment, technologies, testing methods, and procedures. Interface with equipment manufacturers, vendors, contractors, Operations, and other engineering groups. Prepare scoping documents, RFPs, and appropriation requests for capital and R&D projects. Prepare training and technical documentation related to new equipment. Support field activities involving steam distribution equipment, piping systems, metering, valves, pumps, controls, and associated systems. Cross-train and collaborate in other areas of Steam Distribution Engineering, including system engineering, design, metering, pipeline interference, and maps/records. Perform Sequence Engineering duties off-shift and on weekends as required. Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 8+ years of engineering experience, ORMaster's Degree in Engineering with 6+ years of engineering experience Experience in the design and modification of industrial systems. Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Well organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team. Driver's License required.
