About the role
Position Summary:
The Assistant Designer supports the Senior Designer in the execution of seasonal collections in intimate apparel categories. This role provides hands-on assistance with trend research and development, sample coordination, and technical preparation. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the intimate apparel industry with a strong understanding of both fashion and function. Hybrid: In-Office Tuesdays-Thursdays (Mondays, as needed)
Key Responsibilities:
Design Development & Support Assist in the creation and development of seasonal private label collections under the guidance of the Senior Designer. Conduct trend and market research to help identify relevant fashion directions in fabric, color, silhouette, and print. Support in building seasonal color palettes, mood boards, and design decks. Prepare and update CAD sketches, presentation boards, and concept packages for internal and external reviews. Product Preparation & Sample Coordination Assemble and organize sample packages including spec sheets, materials, and trim cards for development handoff. Create and maintain color cards, fabric headers, and trim boards for reference and review. Collaborate with the sample room and technical design team to assist in the development of first prototypes and fit samples. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with cross-functional teams including Merchandising, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure accurate communication and execution of design intent. Participate in fittings and follow through with sketch and tech sheet revisions as directed by the Senior Designer. Help maintain seasonal tracking documents and internal style files to ensure all data is up-to-date and easily accessible. Experience· Bachelor’s degree in design or related field· 1-2 years of professional experience· Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite and Office 365. Centric, Browzwear, and AI experience, a plus· Familiarity with intimate apparel- specific garment construction· Experience creating and maintaining detailed tech sheets/sketches· Strong eye for color, fabric, trend, and design within a commercial environment· Proactive, self-directed, and able to pivot quickly while adhering to development timeline· Solid communication skills with a solutions-based approach· Exceptional organizational skills
