About the role

Cardella Construction Company is seeking an experienced Project Director to join our leadership team and provide strategic oversight across multiple complex projects and project teams. This is a senior-level leadership position for a construction professional who has spent their career successfully delivering complex work, developing strong project teams, and building lasting client relationships. The Project Director will oversee multiple projects and senior-level project management staff while helping drive operational excellence across the organization. This role goes beyond the successful execution of an individual project. Our Project Directors are expected to think at the company level—setting expectations for project performance, developing future leaders, protecting the financial and contractual interests of the company, strengthening client relationships, and helping position CCC for future opportunities. What you'll be up to: Provide executive-level oversight of multiple concurrent projects and project teams, including Senior Project Managers and Project Managers. Establish and maintain high standards for safety, quality, schedule, financial performance, and overall project execution. Hold project teams accountable for budgets, schedules, commitments, and project outcomes. Review and guide project execution strategies, budgets, schedules, contracts, risk management, and major project decisions. Serve as a senior point of contact and trusted advisor for key clients, consultants, trade partners, and other stakeholders. Step into complex project, contractual, financial, personnel, or client issues and help drive them toward resolution. Partner with field leadership, project management, preconstruction, and corporate teams to ensure alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Guide value engineering, constructability reviews, design management, and other strategic project initiatives. Mentor and develop Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and emerging leaders within the organization. Participate in staffing decisions, succession planning, recruiting, performance management, and professional development. Support business development efforts, including client relationships, pursuits, presentations, conceptual budgeting, proposal strategy, and negotiations. Help identify opportunities for repeat business and strengthen CCC's long-term client and industry relationships. Champion Cardella Construction's culture, standards, and expectations across every team and project you lead.
What we're looking for: 15+ years of progressive construction management experience, with significant experience leading large-scale and/or complex commercial, infrastructure, or government projects. A four-year degree in Building Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of technical training and relevant industry experience. Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and leading Project Managers, Senior Project Managers, and multidisciplinary project teams. Advanced knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, cost control, contracts, risk management, safety, quality control, design management, and construction documentation. Strong financial and commercial acumen with the ability to understand and manage the financial, contractual, and legal implications of major project decisions. Experience developing client relationships and participating in pursuits, presentations, negotiations, and business development efforts. A track record of developing people, building high-performing teams, and creating accountability without losing sight of culture. Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Experience with construction technology and project management platforms, including Procore, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and AIA Contract Documents. A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed Most importantly, we're looking for a leader who wants to build more than projects—someone who wants to develop people, strengthen relationships, influence how we operate, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Cardella Construction Company.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
