Geotechnical Superintendent - Drilled Shafts
Atlanta, GA | $120,000 to $150,000 per year plus bonus | Full-time
A heavy civil contractor with a strong Southeast presence is hiring a Geotechnical Superintendent for drilled shaft and deep foundation work in the Atlanta area. The role runs self-perform geotechnical crews on heavy civil and infrastructure projects. The work includes drilled shafts, CFA auger cast piles, micropiles, tiebacks, soldier piles, and soil and rock nails. A company vehicle, fuel card, and toll tags are provided.
Schedule
Full-time, based in the Atlanta, GA area, with travel to project sites as needed.
Compensation
$120,000 to $150,000 base salary, plus bonus potential.
What You'll Do:
You will run daily field operations on geotechnical and deep foundation projects, leading drilled shaft, auger cast pile, and earth retention crews. You will plan means and methods for each geotechnical activity with the project team, and make sure drill rigs, grout plants, and shotcrete pumps are used and maintained properly.
You will keep safety the top priority, working with the safety department and project management. You will update project schedules, track field productivity, and manage labor costs to keep the work on budget. You will coordinate suppliers, subcontractors, and self-perform crews, and run quality control and field documentation on the job.
You will keep project management updated on job status, and take part in job start and job close meetings.
Required Qualifications:
10+ years of geotechnical construction experience
Hands-on experience with drilled shafts, CFA auger cast piles, micropiles, tiebacks, soldier piles, wick drains, and soil or rock nails
Strong working knowledge of drill rigs, grout plants, and shotcrete pumps, including operation and maintenance
Experience leading geotechnical crews in the field
Experience managing crew labor costs and schedule in the field
Willingness to travel to project sites
Based in the Atlanta area, or willing to relocate
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience as a Drilled Shaft Superintendent
Experience on GDOT or other state DOT drilled shaft projects
ADSC drilled shaft or foundation inspector certification
OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification
Class A CDL
Experience with HCSS Heavy Job or other field reporting tools
