About the role
- Assist Press Operators during production runs
- Stage and transport paper rolls, inks, coatings, and production materials
- Support press setups, changeovers, and make-ready activities
- Monitor print quality and identify basic printing defects
- Remove defective material and perform roll splicing according to specifications
- Handle finished rolls and palletize products to prevent damage
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and equipment upkeep
- Lubricate equipment and assist with troubleshooting production issues
- Operate forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment as needed
- Record production information and complete required documentation
- Support safety, quality, and productivity goals throughout the department
- Printing pressroom experience, offset printing preferred
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or machine operation experience
- Forklift, Pallet Jack, Clamp truck experience
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Experience with machine setups, changeovers, or preventative maintenance
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent use of hands and arms throughout the shift
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to safely operate material handling equipment
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and balancing
- Ability to distinguish colors and identify print quality issues accurately
