About the role
Job Duties:
At the full performance WG-08 you will perform the following duties: Position items and containers in boxcars, gondolas, flatcars, and truck trailers according to the capacity of the carrier and configuration and weight of the shipment. Block and brace a variety of equipment and general supply items on commercial and military carriers using blocks, braces, wedges and other staying devices, as well as wire cables, and chains. As a motor vehicle operator / truck driver, operate a gasoline or diesel-powered truck tractor with semi-trailer, Strad-O-Lift trailer, or van to haul a wide variety of high explosives, munitions and components. Assure the load does not exceed vehicle capacity, and that items are considered safe for movement and transfer. Assemble, install, and repair a variety of standard and non-standard wooden articles used in storing, renovating, and transporting ammunition. Set up, adjust, and use portable circular saws (radial arms) and impact wrenched compressors, generators, and a variety of hand tools. Store, stack, and palletize items. Determine proper storage/destination location from instructions received. Assemble items for movement, and select items for issue or movement. Operate an electric or gasoline-powered fork lift, capable of lifting up to 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches.
