About the role

This is a clerical position reporting to the head of the Records/Communications Division in the Police Department. Work involves typing, filing, and handling of confidential information received.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reviews and processes police reports of various types, using a Windows based computer records management system. Completes other clerical duties such as scanning records into laserfiche, researching reports and copying information. Responds to and processes open record requests for information stored at the Police Department. Assists public with requests both in person and via telephone/email. Disburses material to News Media and other City Departments. Good computer skills are essential.
Qualifications: High School diploma or GED. Ability to type 45 words per minute. Must be able to perform essential job functions.
