About the role
Public Services Laborer The City of Robinson is seeking an individual for a full time position in Public Services to provide manual labor following basic routines directed by a supervisor during construction repair and maintenance of City services and facilities. Will also be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of maintenance equipment.
Essential job functions include:
- Assists in the installation and maintenance of streets and sewers.
- Loads and unloads trucks.
- Performs maintenance, cleaning and repair of buildings and facilities.
- Cuts grass and cleans grounds.
- Operates dump truck and hauls sand and gravel
- Trims trees and weeds.
- Performs general labor.
- Operates small implements such as tractors, mowers, and front-end loaders.
- Operates heavy equipment such as bulldozers, graders, or heavy trenching machines.
- Sidewalk and curb and gutter construction, maintenance, and repair.
- Asphalt and unpaved street maintenance and repair.
- Concrete construction of forms, walls to hold back dirt, and other foundations.
- Street cleaning.
- Drainage, easements, rights-of-way, parks, and other city property maintenance.
- Storm sewer cleaning and maintenance.
- Culvert installation, cleaning, and maintenance.
- Performs other job assignments as required.

Qualifications:
High school graduate/GED required. At least one (1) year of street maintenance experience required orAny equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Certificates and licenses: 1. Valid Texas driver's license is required. A Texas CDL operator's license is preferred. 2. Driving record acceptable to the City
Special Requirements:
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to perform strenuous work in the outdoors under adverse weather conditions.
Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds.
Ability to maintain a good driving record.
