Mail Production Operator
Position Purpose: Operate and maintain an inserter to produce mail pieces and prepare mailing for the Post Office. Inspect pieces during production and make adjustments to keep machines running.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ year experience working in a mail production facility operating a mechanical inserter. Experience with US Government Client postal regulations strongly preferred. Typical Day in the Role: We start the day turning on and calibrating equipment. Our day-to-day work load on the inserting machines is similar from one to the next. We then check in with the rest of the team to see if there are any priorities for the day and then get to work. The job of inserting requires loading of printed materials into a machine that will fold documents, insert them into an envelope, seal the envelope and then it is the operator's responsibility to load the sealed documents into a mail tray, apply a protective sleeve, and stack the loaded trays neatly on a skid. Each job sealed is then marked as 'done' within our system. At days end, the completed skids are shrink wrapped and prepared for our morning pick up, the following day.
Candidate Requirements: Education/Certification - Required: High School Diploma or GED - Preferred: Licensure - Required: - Preferred: Years of experience required: 1+ years experience working in a mail production facility operating a mechanical inserter. Experience with US Government Client postal regulations strongly preferred. Disqualifiers: Someone who is unreliable, rude, and unwilling to learn. Additional qualities to look for: A background in digital print, mailing, and distribution is highly desired. A background in a manufacturing environment can translate well.
