Dispatcher & Fleet Coordinator The Dispatcher & Fleet Coordinator supports the daily execution of The Kommissary's transportation and delivery operations. This role coordinates driver dispatch, supports fleet readiness, maintains accurate routing and vehicle records, and helps ensure deliveries are executed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced logistics environment while communicating effectively with drivers, warehouse teams, and management.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate and dispatch drivers for scheduled routes and deliveries. Confirm drivers are prepared for assigned routes and communicate delivery priorities, route changes, and operational updates. Monitor daily route execution and communicate delays, missed deliveries, coverage gaps, or other operational issues. Perform and document vehicle condition checks, including safety, cleanliness, and required equipment. Identify and escalate vehicle safety, maintenance, or repair concerns. Provide day-to-day operational support to drivers and respond to questions or issues that may arise. Reinforce company expectations related to safety, procedures, professionalism, and operational standards. Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams to support timely and efficient dispatch. Maintain accurate information across routing, fleet management, and operational systems. Maintain organized records related to vehicle maintenance, repairs, registrations, inspections, insurance, tickets, tolls/E-ZPass activity, and other fleet documentation. Track preventative maintenance schedules and identify vehicles requiring upcoming service or repairs. Maintain required driver documentation and flag missing or expired information. Document and escalate vehicle damage, accidents, delivery incidents, traffic violations, and other operational issues. Review completed routes and follow up on delivery delays, missed stops, returns, or discrepancies. Prepare driver schedules, route assignments, and delivery consolidations based on operational needs. Support the Operations Manager with reporting, logistics coordination, and operational data. Help identify opportunities to improve routing, scheduling, fleet utilization, and overall efficiency. Perform other related transportation, fleet, and administrative duties as assigned. Work Environment & Schedule Full-time position supporting daily transportation and logistics operations. Ability to work in both an administrative environment and an active warehouse/loading dock environment. Must be comfortable working around delivery vehicles and active transportation operations. Ability to stand and walk for periods of time while conducting vehicle and operational checks. Schedule flexibility may be required based on delivery volume and operational needs. Must follow all company safety procedures and operational standards. Compensation$23.00$27.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Qualifications: 12 years of experience in dispatch, transportation, logistics, fleet coordination, warehouse operations, or a similar environment preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable communicating operational expectations and instructions to drivers. Basic to intermediate computer skills, including email, Excel or Google Sheets, and data entry. Ability to learn and effectively use routing, fleet management, and other operational software. Reliable and punctual with a strong sense of accountability. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Operations and other departments.
