About the role
Responsibilities:
Lead the company’s accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, and financial reportingPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statementsEnsure accurate and timely reporting in accordance with GAAP and applicable insurance industry requirementsOversee internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processesCoordinate annual audits and serve as a primary point of contact for external auditorsPartner with executive leadership on financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiativesMonitor regulatory reporting and compliance requirements applicable to the insurance industryManage and develop accounting team membersIdentify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, controls, and overall efficiencySupport special projects and continued organizational growthQualificationsActive CPA license requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance requiredInsurance industry accounting experience requiredPrior Controller, Assistant Controller, or comparable senior accounting leadership experienceStrong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit requirementsExperience working within a regulated insurance environmentStrong leadership, communication, and analytical skillsAbility to operate effectively in a growing, fast-paced organization
