Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job DescriptionDescription:TriplePoint Labs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer tolead the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems and engineeredassemblies. This role will support the development of industrial fluid handling systems, pumppackages, fuel systems, control assemblies, and custom engineered equipment from concept throughproduction.Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Design & Development• Design and develop mechanical systems, assemblies, and components for industrial and commercialapplicationsCreate detailed 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and production documentationDevelop pump systems, piping assemblies, fuel systems, skids, tanks, and integrated mechanicalpackages• Perform component selection including pumps, valves, fittings, motors, instrumentation, andstructural elements• Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, codes, and customer specificationsEngineering AnalysisPerform tolerance analysis, thermal considerations, and mechanical calculationsEvaluate material compatibility, corrosion resistance, pressure ratings, and system performanceSupport root cause analysis and troubleshooting of field issues and production challengesReview and improve existing product designs for manufacturability, cost reduction, andreliabilityManufacturing & Production SupportCollaborate with fabrication, assembly, and purchasing teams to support productionGenerate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)Support prototype builds, testing, commissioning, and product validationCoordinate with vendors and suppliers for custom components and fabrication requirementsProject LeadershipLead engineering projects from concept through releaseInterface directly with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholdersManage multiple projects, schedules, and engineering priorities simultaneouslyMentor junior engineers and designersRequirements:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field5–10+ years of mechanical design engineering experienceProficiency with 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or CreoStrong understanding of mechanical systems, fluid systems, fabrication, and manufacturingprocessesExperience creating detailed fabrication and assembly documentationStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and organizational abilitiesPreferredExperience with fuel oil systems, pump skids, process piping, and industrial control systemsFamiliarity with ASME standards, NFPA requirements, and UL-related design considerationsExperience working in industrial manufacturing or custom equipment environmentsFEA or engineering analysis experienceERP/PDM/PLM system experienceKey AttributesSelf-motivated and detail-orientedHands-on engineering mindsetStrong mechanical aptitudeAbility to work independently and collaborativelyComfortable in both office and shop environmentsPractical approach to engineering and manufacturing challengesCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salaryHealth benefitsPaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesCollaborative engineering environmentOpportunities for advancement and technical leadershipAbout TriplePoint LabsTriplePoint Labs specializes in engineered mechanical systems, industrial equipment integration,and custom fluid handling solutions.
