About the role

Supervisor Horizontal Continuous Casting (Aluminum) The Horizontal Continuous Casting (HCC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing end-to-end aluminum horizontal continuous casting operations. This includes direct supervision of casting, peeling, ultrasonic testing (UT), cutting, and packing activities to ensure safe operations, consistent product quality, and on-time delivery. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring active shop-floor involvement to support production, troubleshoot process and equipment issues, and lead teams during critical operations.
Key Responsibilities
Casting Operations Oversight: Supervise daily horizontal continuous casting operations including metal transfer, mold/graphite tooling, cooling control, puller operation, and cut-to-length processes. Maintain stable casting conditions by controlling metal temperature, casting speed, cooling rates, and tooling condition.
Downstream Process Supervision: Coordinate and oversee peeling operations (depth-of-cut control, tooling condition, alignment, yield optimization), ultrasonic testing (UT) per internal procedures and customer specifications, cutting operations (cut-length accuracy, blade condition, minimizing cut loss), and packing operations (bundling, labeling, protection, traceability).Review UT results, identify defect trends, and coordinate disposition of nonconforming material. Maintain full heat and lot traceability throughout casting, inspection, cutting, and packing.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety standards related to molten metal handling, industrial equipment and saws, UT systems, and material handling operations. Ensure compliance with quality systems and customer specifications.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Provide hands-on support during startups, equipment downtime, staffing shortages, and process disruptions. Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve issues. Monitor scrap rates, peel yield, UT rejects, cut loss, and downtime. Implement corrective actions and support root cause analysis. Train, coach, and develop operators across all downstream processes. Drive continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications: Strong knowledge of aluminum horizontal continuous casting operations. Working knowledge of peeling, ultrasonic testing (UT), cutting, and packing. Hands-on troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or foundry environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Ability to interpret production metrics, inspection data, and process controls. Familiarity with quality systems, traceability requirements, and customer standards. Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment. Availability for weekends or off-shift support as required.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a hot, noisy industrial manufacturing environment. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, climb, and work around industrial equipment.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
