Role Description: This is a full-time hybrid Loan Officer role based in Michigan, United States, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Loan Officer will guide clients through the mortgage process, from initial consultation to closing, providing accurate information on loan programs and financing options. Daily tasks include assessing borrower eligibility, collecting and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting, and ensuring compliance with lending regulations. The role also involves generating new business through referrals and outreach, following up on leads, and maintaining detailed records in company systems. Loan Officers will collaborate with internal teams, communicate clearly with clients via phone, email, and online tools, and deliver high-quality customer service throughout each transaction.
Qualifications: Strong background in Loan Origination and Loan Officer responsibilities, including managing the full mortgage process from application to closing. Knowledge of Finance and mortgage products, with the ability to explain interest rates, terms, and options clearly to borrowers. Experience with Underwriting collaboration, including understanding creditworthiness, risk assessment, and required documentation. Demonstrated Customer Service skills, including responsiveness, clear communication, and a client-focused approach. Familiarity with federal and state mortgage regulations; NMLS registration and appropriate licensing in Michigan (or ability to obtain) preferred. Proficiency with loan origination systems and common office software; comfort working in both in-office and remote environments. Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is beneficial. Prior experience in residential mortgage lending or banking is preferred; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
