Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role based in Slatersville, RI. The Mechanical Design Engineer will develop and refine mechanical concepts, create detailed designs, and prepare engineering documentation for new and existing construction projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include generating 3D models and drawings using CAD tools, performing basic calculations and design analyses, and ensuring designs meet functional, safety, and performance requirements. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, coordinating the electrical and plumbing requirements. The engineer will also assist with design reviews, maintain organized project files, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes.
Qualifications: Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with practical understanding of mechanical systems and components. Experience in Design Engineering, including translating requirements into clear specifications and mechanical concepts. Proficiency in HVAC design, including selection of equipment, materials and accessories. Hands-on experience with CAD and REVIT tools for 3D modeling and 2D drafting, and ability to produce accurate construction drawings. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively on-site with engineers, architects and contractors. Strong problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a project-based environment.
