Job Description: Sunrise Paddleboards is South Florida's premier watersports destination, offering unforgettable experiences on the water. Through our Live Blue activity center, we provide paddleboard and kayak rentals, guided tours, snorkel adventures, eFoil lessons, electric surfboard experiences, underwater scooter demos, tankless diving, and the latest innovations in watersports technology. Position Overview: This role combines customer service, retail sales, shop operations, equipment management, and adventure guiding. Depending on experience and qualifications, you may assist with or guide paddleboard tours, kayak tours, snorkel experiences, equipment demonstrations, and other watersports activities. Weekend availability is required. This position is ideal for someone who prefers an active workday over sitting behind a desk. You'll spend time interacting with guests, working outdoors, showcasing exciting products, and helping customers discover new ways to enjoy the water. No two days are exactly the same.
Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Guest Experience Welcome guests and create a friendly, professional first impression. Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and assist customers with reservations. Help guests select the right activities, rentals, tours, and products. Conduct safety briefings and ensure guests are comfortable before participating in activities. Shop Operations & Management Assist with daily shop operations and opening/closing procedures. Maintain an organized retail showroom and rental fleet. Manage reservations and scheduling systems. Monitor inventory and assist with merchandising and product displays. Adventure Guiding & Activity Support Lead or assist with paddleboard, kayak, and snorkel tours. Support demonstrations of innovative watersports products and experiences. Help guests safely launch, return, and enjoy their activities. Promote a fun, safe, professional environment on and off the water. Retail Sales & Product Knowledge Learn and demonstrate our premium watersports products, including: Paddleboards Kayakse Foils Electric surfboards Underwater scootersBLU3 diving systems Other emerging watersports technologies Educate customers on equipment features and benefits. Generate sales through outstanding customer service and product recommendations. Maintenance & Facility Care Keep the facility clean, organized, and guest-ready. Assist with equipment maintenance and storage. Help transport, load, and organize rental equipment. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, restrooms, and common spaces.
Requirements
Physical Requirements: Comfortable working outdoors in Florida weather conditions. Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand, walk, paddle, and remain active throughout the workday. Strong swimming ability. Customer Service Skills Friendly, positive, and professional attitude. Excellent communication skills. Ability to remain calm and helpful in a fast-paced environment. Reliability Dependable and punctual. Available to work weekends and holidays as needed. Reliable transportation.
Technical Skills: Basic computer skills. Ability to learn reservation and scheduling software. Comfortable learning new products and technologies.
Other Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to safety and guest experience.
Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following experience is a major plus: Paddleboarding experience Kayaking experience Snorkeling or diving experience Experience leading tours or outdoor recreation programs Retail or hospitality experienceCPR/First Aid certification Sales experience Familiarity with electric watersports products such as eFoils or electric surfboards Passion for the outdoors and helping people create incredible experiences
