A client of The Midtown Group is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join its growing public accounting team in Easton, Maryland. This established and highly respected firm serves a diverse client base that includes high-net-worth individuals, pass-through entities, closely held businesses, trusts, estates, and individual taxpayers. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1120, and 1120SWork with individual taxpayers, high-net-worth clients, trusts, estates, pass-through entities, and privately held businesses
- Manage multiple client engagements and deadlines throughout the year
- Research tax issues and provide support for compliance and planning projects
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide exceptional service
- Collaborate with associates, managers, and leadership on client engagements
- Maintain accurate workpapers and client documentation
- Meet established chargeable-hour and productivity expectations
- Continue developing technical and client-management skills with a focus on career growth and advancement
Qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of public accounting tax experience
- Experience preparing individual and business tax returns
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax compliance
- Experience working with Forms 1040, 1041, 1120, and 1120SAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Desire to build long-term client relationships
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience serving high-net-worth individuals and privately held businesses
- Familiarity with pass-through entities and complex tax engagements
- Experience with CCH Access Tax or other CCH products
- Experience using CaseWare and/or AutoFlowCPA designation or progress toward CPA licensure
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive base salary of approximately $85,000-$120,000, depending on experience
