Publications Specialist – Medical Publications
Location: Linthicum Heights, MD
Employment Type: Temp-to-Hire
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Work Arrangement: Hybrid Green Key Resources is working with a professional healthcare organization seeking a detail-oriented Publications Specialist to support its medical publications team. This role will focus primarily on proofreading and copyediting medical content, with additional opportunities to contribute to medical writing and editorial projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in medical communications, healthcare writing, or publishing who enjoys detailed editorial work and is comfortable in an individual contributor role.
Key Responsibilities: Proofread and copyedit medical publications, articles, and digital content for grammar, spelling, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards. Apply AMA style guidelines and ensure consistency across publications. Write articles of approximately 1,000–1,500 words for a clinical and professional physician audience. Review medical terminology, clinical content, and urology-related images with attention to detail. Use Adobe Acrobat to mark up documents, provide comments, and communicate editorial revisions. Collaborate with physicians, editors, internal team members, and external sponsors to coordinate content and resolve questions. Support publication deadlines and assist with additional editorial projects as needed. Help maintain organized workflows and track projects using tools such as Wrike or similar project management platforms.
Qualifications: Approximately 2+ years of professional experience in proofreading, copyediting, medical writing, healthcare communications, or publishing. Strong proofreading and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail. Knowledge of AMA style guidelines. Comfort with medical terminology and clinical content; urology-related knowledge or experience is a plus. Ability to write clear, accurate medical content for a professional audience. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience with project management tools such as Wrike, Asana, or similar platforms is a plus. Bachelor’s degree required.
