Snelling Talent Partners is partnering with an established metal fabrication and manufacturing company in Washington, MO, seeking experienced MIG/TIG Welders to join its production team. This opportunity involves precision welding and fabrication of metal components used in industrial equipment, structural assemblies, electrical components, and custom manufacturing applications. The facility utilizes modern manufacturing technology, including manual MIG/TIG welding, resistance welding, and robotic welding systems. Candidates will work in a quality-focused production environment where accuracy, consistency, and craftsmanship are essential. The ideal candidate has hands-on MIG welding experience, knowledge of fabrication processes, and the ability to interpret blueprints and produce high-quality welds.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG and TIG welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metal components as assigned.
Fabricate and weld metal parts, frames, brackets, supports, and industrial assemblies according to blueprints and specifications.
Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, work orders, and technical specifications.
Set up and adjust welding equipment according to material type, thickness, and required weld specifications.
Perform production welding while maintaining proper weld penetration, alignment, and consistency.
Prepare materials through cutting, grinding, cleaning, fitting, and positioning before welding.
Inspect completed welds for defects, dimensional accuracy, structural integrity, and appearance.
Follow applicable welding procedures and quality standards, including AWS D1.1 requirements where specified.
Use tape measures, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to verify specifications.
Identify and correct welding defects, including porosity, distortion, and improper weld placement.
Assist with fabrication, grinding, polishing, and finishing operations as needed.
Work alongside automated and robotic welding equipment when assigned and appropriately trained.
Maintain equipment and follow established safety and production procedures.
Meet production expectations without compromising weld quality.
Qualifications:
Previous MIG welding experience required; TIG welding experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in a metal fabrication, welding, or industrial manufacturing environment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and fabrication drawings.
Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Understanding of weld preparation, equipment setup, and quality inspection.
Familiarity with AWS welding standards preferred.
Ability to use grinders, hand tools, and precision measuring equipment.
Experience with structural weldments, sheet metal assemblies, or custom fabrication preferred.
Robotic welding, resistance welding, or cobotics experience is a plus but not required.
Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to producing quality work.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive welding tasks.
Ability to safely handle metal materials, welding equipment, and fabrication tools.
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.
Compensation & Opportunities$21.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and welding proficiency.
