Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and skilled Prevailing Wage Journeyman Electrician to join our team, focusing on government projects in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of prevailing wage requirements and expertise in electrical installations for public works projects.
Key Responsibilities: Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on government-contracted projects, ensuring compliance with prevailing wage regulations. Interpret blueprints, schematics, and project specifications to plan and execute electrical work. Adhere to safety protocols and building codes to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with contractors, project managers, and other trades to ensure project completion within established timelines. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked for prevailing wage reporting. Attend training sessions and workshops to stay current on prevailing wage regulations, electrical code updates, and industry best practices.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent training. Valid California General Electrician Certification and Journeyman Electrician license. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a journeyman electrician, with at least 1 year working on government-contracted projects. Thorough understanding of prevailing wage requirements and experience complying with public works project regulations. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and installation methods. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Familiarity with local, state, and federal building codes and safety regulations. Must be willing to pass GOVT background check for base clearance.
