What You'll Do: As ourConstruction Manager, you will work independently under general supervision and in conjunction with the Owner's Project Manager to oversee daily construction management activities: Construction Leadership & Owner Representation Serve as the primary owner representative overseeing, performing, and coordinating daily construction management. Project Delivery & Performance Oversight Monitor the quality of construction and conformance with plans and specifications, contractor safety implementation, project progress, budget, and schedule. Contract Administration & Documentation Administer construction contracts, including review of contractor schedules, responding to claims received from contractors, documenting project progress, and answering requests for information, submittals, and change orders. Stakeholder Coordination & Issue Resolution Interact with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies, including leading meetings and generating correspondence. Lead resolution of day-to-day construction issues. Change Management & Cost Control Initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate costs of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and determine monthly progress payments. Field & Team Coordination Direct and supervise field construction activities and staff, material testing, surveying, and field contract administration. Coordinate and manage all Psomas sub-consultants. Project Documentation & Closeout Create daily reports, monitor the daily reports of staff, and recommend acceptance to the Owner's Project Manager.
Required Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license / Licensed Civil Engineer in the State of California strongly preferred; Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification may be accepted in lieu of PE10+ years' experience as a Resident Engineer or Construction Manager
  • Knowledge of Construction Management practices including project time management, cost control, documentation, quality management and safety
  • Experience in the construction of pipelines, pump stations, flow control facilities, treatment plants, and hydro-electric facilities
  • Competent with Microsoft Office including Word and Excel; knowledge of Primavera
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $150,000 - $250,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
