About the role
A transitional housing organization in Midtown Manhattan, New York City is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide on-site nursing care in a shelter-based residential setting.
About the Opportunity
Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Hours: 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pmSetting: In-person, homeless shelter
Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site nursing services and support residents under the direction of the Nurse Manager
- Complete nursing screenings, intake assessments, and documentation using clinical templates and the EMR system
- Manage medications, including refills, prior authorizations, storage, monitoring, and self-administration records
- Administer ordered treatments and perform clinical procedures such as vital signs, EKGs, blood glucose checks, hearing and vision tests, and specimen collection
- Coordinate with medical staff, shelter leadership, and case management to support care plans and resident referrals
Qualifications:
- 2 to 3 years of clinical experience in a psychiatric, mental health, behavioral health, or substance use setting
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
- Comfort with electronic medical record documentation
- Strong oral and listening communication skills

Bilingual Experience working with homeless individuals Familiarity with eClinicalWorks electronic medical record system
