About the role

Our client, a $1B+ Non-Profit Investment Organization, is seeking a VP of Finance to lead all accounting operations, reporting, and compliance while supporting all FP&A operations for the entire organization. This position will report into the CFO, manage a small team, and have oversight of a large diversified investment portfolio. Outside of general accounting and finance expertise, the ideal candidate will offer robust technological savvy and strong people leadership experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Support annual budgeting, multi-year planning, revenue/expense forecasting, and financial modeling to support strategic decision-making and report variances to senior leadership and the Board. Oversee day-to-day financial operations, cash management, and internal controls while guiding the Controller to ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. Analyze investment portfolio performance, liquidity, and yield trends to develop actionable dashboards and support organizational sustainability Direct the annual external audit, oversee Form 990 preparation, and ensure compliance with GAAP, nonprofit standards, lender agreements, donor restrictions, and grant requirements. Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, automation, data integrity, and reporting tools to boost efficiency across all departments. Supervise and mentor finance staff while building strong collaborative relationships with internal departments and external partners, auditors, lenders, and funders.
QUALIFICATIONS: BA of Accounting, Finance, or related field; Masters or MBA preferredCPA and/or public audit experience required 10+ years of accounting experience within public audit and/or a large non-profit environment 5+ years of leadership experience Non-Profit Lending, CDFI, or Credit Union experience a huge plus Benefits3 days in office in Manhattan | 2 days remote Strong PTO Package Majority company covered Medical / Dental / Vision403B matching
