Insurance:
Medical, dental, eye, and prescription medication coverage are available to eligible employees. SOV offers a fully paid $10,000 life insurance benefit. Flexible Spending Plan - SOV offers a flexible spending account that allows you to pay certain medical expenses as well as child care on a pre-tax basis.
Paid Time Off: SOV employees begin accumulating paid time off (PTO) hours
Holidays:
SOV recognizes 7 paid holidays; those who work a holiday are paid double time. In the third year of service all employees are paid for their birthday and choice of floating holiday.
Retirement:
Employees are eligible to participate in SOV's 403(b) tax deferred annuity from their first day. Education Support - SOV's Professional Development Scholarship awards $1,000 each year to employees pursuing further education in their field including free STNA classes. Student Loan Forgiveness up to $2500 paid out over 4 years. Partnership with Ohio University - SOV employees are eligible for a 5% discount for undergraduate programs, and 10% for graduate programs. We are a healthcare community offering short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, long-term care, assisted living, independent living and home health services. Prepares and cooks meals for residents and by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Gathers all food needed for mealtime and reports any shortages to Food Service Director. Plates all food items for residents and staff. Prepares various foods depending on the menu created by the dieticians for each meal of the day, following federal, state, and local various kitchen equipment in preparation for the meal, e.g., mixer, meat slicer, oven, steamer, etc. Serves meals in a safe manner and follows all requirements. Directs activities of one or more workers who assist in preparing and serving meals. Accurately follows diet cards when serving residents. Takes and documents food kitchen and all kitchen equipment. Assists in putting away of dietary stock and rotation of dietary supplies. Keeps all coolers clean and organized, including checking expiration portion control guidelines. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident, staff, and organization perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous cook experience required.
