Join Western Midstream in The Woodlands, TX as our Senior Contract Analyst, where you will provide contracts analysis support across diverse commercial and marketing agreements during the creation, negotiation, execution, and management of commercial contracts. This role serves as a trusted advisor to our legal and commercial teams, drafts standard and non‑standard agreements, oversees compliance with the Company's Delegation of Authority Policy, and helps guide the work of less experienced analysts.
Responsibilities:
- Provide contracts analysis support across diverse contracts and contract types and significant operational areas
- Prepare drafts of standard and non‑standard agreements based on templates or precedent, term sheets, and established processes
- Advise internal stakeholder groups on issues related to compliance with the Company's Delegation of Authority Policy ("DOA") and oversee the DOA process for lower‑level Contract Analysts
- Prepare standard and non‑standard counterparty notifications
- Oversee the transfer of contract data to accounting and review reports on contract analyses, supporting the monthly producer settlement process
- Communicate with interdisciplinary team members and deliver information on contract terms and solutions to resolve contract compliance issues
- Manage contract deadlines, notification requirements, and other material terms for the relevant area of support
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure accurate data entry and transfer
- Serve as a document retention software super user, assisting allied teams with all aspects of document management
- Extract contractual and operational metadata from contracts
- Prepare reports or gather data across multiple systems for commercial counterparts as needed with reasonable deadlines
- Prepare contract information for internal and external audits
- Provide assistance to less experienced employees and take an active part in team meetings and decisions
- Qualifications5 or more years of experience in a midstream oil and gas customer‑facing contracts field
- Understands complex midstream customer‑facing contract terms and can identify contract provisions
- Demonstrates initiative through interpersonal and leadership skills, bringing team members together to produce results
- Demonstrates a high level of personal and professional judgment; works independently and applies new information and concepts to accomplish tasks
- Able to independently prepare non‑standard documentation and effectively present material to management
- Able to recognize nuanced contractual issues and recommend solutions
- Complete understanding of organization functions, roles and responsibilities, and the company's business and strategic goals
- Power user across the full Microsoft 365 suite
- Demonstrates superior understanding of system applications and can adapt quickly to technology needs
- EducationBachelor’s Degree required — B.S. in Energy or Land Management, Business Administration, Library Science, Information Science, Legal Studies, or other related academic experience
- An appropriate combination of education level and experience is acceptable
- Knowledge of Waterfield Energy and SAP preferred
Travel Requirements:
- Travel will be required up to 5%.Work Schedule
- This position will work 9 hours Monday – Thursday and 4 hours on Friday. The position will require Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in The Woodlands office.
