About Boston Tennis
Our mission is to make tennis accessible to everyone in Greater Boston regardless of age or skill level. We're a UTR-sanctioned nonprofit tennis club with 400 members and growing across Greater Boston. We're looking for a passionate, certified tennis coach to lead private lessons, group lessons, and clinics for players of all ages and skill levels.
What you’ll do:
Run private and group lessons for beginner to intermediate players, lead clinics at our outdoor venues across Greater Boston, and help grow the next generation of tennis players in our community.
Compensation
Commission-based per lesson is a negotiated profit share based on your experience level. You set your own availability and we help build your client base within our growing member community of 400 players. People book you directly with our platform.
Requirements:
USTA Level 1 Coaching Certification (or willingness to complete the USTA Coaching Fundamentals Workshop — a two-day in‑person training that qualifies you for Level 1 certification) Clean Massachusetts CORI background check Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Strong communication skills and a passion for teaching.
UTR account and familiarity with UTR-sanctioned events Experience working with youth players SafeSport certification
If you don't have a UTR account, you must make one before applying and familiarize yourself with the platform.
Who We’re Looking For
A genuine passion for tennis — not just casual interest
Extroverted, comfortable in public, able to hold a room
Self-motivated — willing to communicate with students and drive to tennis courts.
Lives in Massachusetts or the Greater Boston area
Understands this is a side-gig with serious upside, not a 9-to-5

Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
