About the role
Embedded Engineer📍 Germantown, MD - Onsite We’re looking for a Embedded Engineer who can work across the hardware and software stack to develop and integrate complex technical systems. This role spans system architecture, hardware bring-up, FPGA and embedded development, Linux, application software, testing, and deployment. You’ll be involved throughout the product lifecycle, working closely with engineers across disciplines to troubleshoot challenging integration issues and help take systems from early development through production.
What You’ll Do:
Design, develop, integrate, and test systems combining custom electronics, FPGA/programmable logic, embedded firmware, Linux, and application software. Support circuit development and troubleshooting across analog, digital, and mixed-signal designs. Evaluate emerging and specialized technologies and help determine how they can be incorporated into future system architectures and products. Work across hardware, FPGA, firmware, and software teams to identify and resolve complex system-level issues. Develop and improve hardware fixtures, diagnostic tools, validation processes, and production test capabilities. Establish and maintain procedures for system testing, characterization, troubleshooting, and manufacturing. Help define practical guidelines and review processes for the responsible use of AI coding tools within engineering.
What You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.4+ years of experience developing software for embedded systems, Linux environments, or at the kernel level. Strong understanding of embedded system architecture, development, debugging, and system integration. Proficiency in one or more of C, C++, Python, or Bash. Experience working with Linux systems, including configuration, upgrades, troubleshooting, and performance tuning. Hands-on experience bringing up new hardware and troubleshooting hardware/software interfaces. Familiarity with FPGA-based systems and hardware description languages such as Verilog or VHDL.Experience with digital signal processing, control systems, or related algorithms.
