About the role

Technical Sales Specialist Location: Southern California & Southern Nevada Leodis Search is recruiting on behalf of a leading life science instrumentation company developing innovative technologies for proteomics, genomics and cell analysis research. We're seeking a Technical Sales Specialist to drive sales and provide technical support across Southern California and Southern Nevada. This is a customer-facing role combining technical expertise, consultative selling, product demonstrations and territory development.
The Role: You will be responsible for growing sales across the territory, working directly with end users and distribution partners. You will build relationships with key accounts, develop new opportunities and provide technical expertise throughout the sales process.
Key responsibilities include: Develop and manage sales opportunities across the assigned territory. Generate new business through existing relationships and prospecting. Deliver product demonstrations, technical seminars and customer presentations. Work closely with distributors, including providing product and technical training. Build strong relationships with researchers, laboratory managers and key decision-makers. Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunities and sales pipeline. Identify opportunities to grow sales of consumables, reagents, service contracts and additional instrumentation. Attend industry exhibitions, conferences and customer events. Gather market intelligence and competitive information to support commercial strategy. Develop territory plans and identify opportunities for growth. Collaborate with customers on applications, data generation and application notes. Provide regular sales forecasts, activity reports and market feedback to management.
What We're Looking For: BS, MS or PhD in Biology or a related life science discipline.2+ years of hands-on laboratory/bench experience. Experience with Western blotting, qPCR/gene expression and/or flow cytometry.1+ year of direct sales experience preferred, ideally within life science instrumentation, protein analysis, gene expression or related technologies. Existing knowledge and relationships across the Southern California life science market. Strong technical, communication and presentation skills. Commercially minded, proactive and comfortable developing new business. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with customers, distributors and internal teams. Strong organisational, problem-solving and time-management skills. Should be based within the territory and able to regularly travel to customer sites.
Additional Requirements: Willingness to travel regularly throughout the territory. Ability to lift and transport demonstration equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to represent the company at conferences, exhibitions and customer events. Interested? Apply NOW!
