About the role
Job TitleAssist with field inspection services in sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and other underground infrastructure to Support Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) Examples of Duties
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Performs field research and locates existing underground facilities.
- Performs note keeping and mathematical calculations.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot flow monitoring equipment, rain gauges, telemetry systems, and associated data collection technologies
- Performs field inspection services such as manhole assessments, smoke testing, and dye water flooding to evaluate for inflow and infiltration sources.
- Maintains all equipment and supplies.
- Performs investigations of sanitary sewer system overflows and customer complaints.
- Assists Survey Crew in the absence of Data Collection Crew Leader.
- Operates the utility's Enterprise Asset Management Software (EAM)
- Follows safety practices, work procedures, and guidelines.
- Undertakes any reasonable request within capabilities that is for the good of the community and the Utility.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
- Typical Qualifications
Qualifications include:
High School graduate or equivalent.
Proficiency with smartphones and tablets (iPads, etc.).Experience with computer software (Microsoft Office, current edition) and data entry.
Ability to perform confined space entry.
Ability to remove and replace manhole lids, climb in and out of manholes, and work with hand tools and equipment.
Ability to work in weather and terrain extremes.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Class I Wastewater Operator's license within two years.
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Arkansas driver's license.
Ability to read and interpret sewer and road maps
Preferred:
- One year of basic Sanitary Sewer Evaluation Survey (SSES) field survey experience.
- Previous experience working within confined spaces
