Position Overview: The General Manager II is a critical leadership role responsible for driving growth, operational excellence, and customer value across one or more distribution centers. With full P&L accountability, this role leads both exempt and non-exempt teams in a fast-paced, high-performance and productivity environment. The General Manager II ensures the consistent execution of safety, quality, attendance, and productivity standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement. This leader leverages data-driven decision-making and analytical problem-solving to enhance efficiency and performance. Success in this role requires strong leadership, effective talent development, and a relentless focus on delivering for customers - on time and with excellence. Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Lead overall site operations to drive safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction across one or more distribution centers. Manage full P&L accountability, ensuring financial targets are met through effective budgeting, forecasting, variance control, and cost-saving initiatives. Establish and monitor key performance metrics; use data to guide decision-making and continuous process improvements. Champion a culture of safety and compliance by enforcing standards, ensuring training, and maintaining regulatory adherence. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent engagement and service excellence. Develop and empower a high-performing leadership team through coaching, talent development, and succession planning. Collaborate with Human Resources to recruit, retain, and engage top talent while fostering a culture of morale and inclusion. Align teams with business goals through clear communication and ownership of KPIs, contractual requirements, and strategic objectives. Drive cross-function initiatives and lead projects with potential regional impact. Promote employee engagement through regular communication forums, site events, and recognition programs. Partner with internal teams on procurement, scheduling, and facility maintenance to support seamless operations. Foster positive employee relations and support efforts to maintain a union-free workplace. Perform other related job duties as assigned or required.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred – or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with 6 or more of those years in progressive leadership roles within a distribution or logistics environment, including large-scale facility management with P&L ownership.
  • Strong leadership skills with comprehensive knowledge of end-to-end warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, inventory management, and labor planning.
  • Customer focused with strong customer interaction capabilities.
  • Strong planning, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency including expertise in Radio Frequency (RF) technology and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a food grade or healthcare warehouse environment.
  • Prior experience utilizing Blue Yonder or Körber WMS systems.
Physical Requirements: This position requires the physical ability to: Stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours, depending on shift) Sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed Climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds at various heights including ground-level and racking zones occasionally Reach with hands and arms overhead and below waist level Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Occasionally lift heavier items with or without assistance Use fine motor skills/manual dexterity to operate equipment, tools, or keyboards Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, grasp, or control objects See clearly at close range and at distance, with peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus Hear and understand verbal instructions, alarms, and equipment signals in a noisy environment Sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer Use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard, mouse, and telephone Speak and hear clearly in person, virtually, and over the phone Work Environment This position operates in a hybrid environment, with responsibilities carried out in both a warehouse setting and an office environment. In the warehouse, the employee is exposed to: Varying temperatures, including but not limited to refrigerated or non-climate controlled areas Loud noise levels, such as machinery, forklifts, and conveyor systems Dust, odors, and airborne particles Concrete flooring and moving mechanical equipment Frequent exposure to powered industrial vehicles and warehouse traffic The employee is required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and high-visibility vests. In the office environment, the employee will use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and printers. The noise level in the office is typically quiet to moderate, and the area is climate-controlled. Location/Remote Eligibility This role may be performed on-site only. This position requires occasional travel to (city/cities/region) facilities and may include up to 15% travel. Schedule Flexible hours may be required to support deadlines or cross-functional collaboration.
