About the role
- Develop and execute a national sales strategy focused on profitable revenue growth and new account acquisition.
- Identify, pursue and close major national and regional account opportunities.
- Build executive-level relationships with decision-makers across construction, facilities, real estate, development, procurement and marketing.
- Leverage existing industry relationships while continually developing new opportunities and market channels.
- Work with architects, designers, developers and general contractors to position and specify company products and solutions into new construction and renovation programs.
- Develop strategic account plans, pipeline forecasts and business-development priorities.
- Lead complex sales processes from initial opportunity identification through proposal, negotiation and close.
- Partner closely with engineering, estimating, manufacturing, project management and installation teams to ensure customer expectations are successfully translated into execution.
- Identify emerging markets, customer requirements and product opportunities that can contribute to the company's long-term growth.
- Maintain a strong understanding of project economics, estimating, margin expectations and competitive positioning.
- Represent the organization at customer meetings, industry events and strategic networking opportunities.
- Travel nationally as required, approximately 40–50%.
- 10+ years of progressive B2B sales and business-development experience, preferably involving national or multi-location accounts.
- Demonstrated success developing significant new business rather than relying exclusively on established accounts or inbound opportunities.
- Experience within one or more of the following areas strongly preferred:
- Architectural branding and signage
- ACM / architectural wall panel systems
- Building envelope or exterior building products
- Branded environments
- Retail/QSR construction programs
- Multi-site national account programs
- Established relationships within automotive, QSR, retail, banking, commercial development or related national-account markets are highly desirable.
- Experience working with architects, designers, general contractors, construction executives and corporate facilities/real-estate teams.
- Ability to understand architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and construction documents.
- Working knowledge of estimating, project costing and margin management.
- Strong executive presence, negotiation ability and consultative selling skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, operations and project-management functions.
- Bachelor's degree in business, construction, architecture, design or related discipline preferred; equivalent industry experience considered.
