About the role
- ARRT(MR) or ARRT(R) certification required; ARMRIT accepted as alternativeBLS certification required (AHA, not expiring prior to start)1-2 years of MRI Tech hospital experience strongly preferred 6-12 months of acute care experience strongly preferred
- Level 2 Trauma Center experience strongly preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required
- Current state licensure required to administer IV contrast
- License required if applicable
- Must meet departmental IV certification competency within three months of hire
- Must complete controlled substance and moderate sedation modules within six months of hire, where applicable
- Physical demands include hearing/listening, lifting, manual dexterity, seeing, and standing
- Perform MRI examinations per department protocol, ensuring proper patient identification and order verification
- Demonstrate anatomical positioning competency and understanding of cross-sectional anatomy
- Select appropriate scanning techniques and protocols in coordination with the radiologist
- Administer IV contrast material under physician or radiologist supervision following proper protocol
- Practice infection control and sterile techniques
- Operate and troubleshoot MRI equipment, including understanding magnet, cryogens, gradient amplifiers, and related computer systems
- Understand quench procedures and MRI safety policies including the four-zone concept
- Complete accurate documentation including time stamps, image storage, coding, charging, and consents
- Maintain current QC program for ACR compliance and report equipment issues
- Permanent Intermountain staff must be separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year before being eligible for this travel assignment
