Shift Schedule: Various Shift, (Day Shift 6:00am – 2:00pm), (Afternoon Shift 2:00pm – 10:00pm), (Night Shift 10:00pm – 6:00am). Open Availability, Weekends and Holidays. Must be able to work Fridays No Exception Number of Openings: 4
Job Summary: We are recruiting dependable and hardworking Sanitation Associates for a large commercial bakery in Brooklyn, NY. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and food-safe production environment by cleaning and sanitizing bakery production equipment, including mixers, ovens, proofers, and packaging machinery, as well as performing washdowns of production areas, floors, walls, and drains. Sanitation Associates will also disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning, follow the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), complete required sanitation documentation, and safely handle cleaning chemicals according to SDS guidelines. The ideal candidate will have previous sanitation or custodial experience in a food manufacturing environment, familiarity with industrial cleaning chemicals, and a strong commitment to food safety and attention to detail. Candidates must be comfortable performing physical work in cold, wet, or humid environments, standing and bending for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, wearing required PPE, and working flexible schedules that may include nights and weekends.
Essential Job Responsibilities: (including but not limited to):Clean and sanitize production equipment, mixers, ovens, proofers, and packaging machinery. Perform washdowns of production areas, floors, walls, and drains. Follow Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and complete required documentation. Disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning. Handle and apply cleaning chemicals safely following SDS guidelines. Identify and report sanitation, pest, or maintenance concerns. Support GMP, food safety, and kosher compliance. Maintain personal hygiene and PPE standards.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in cold, wet, or humid environments. Able to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods. Ability to handle repetitive tasks and physical labor. General Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Prior sanitation or custodial experience in food manufacturing preferred. Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and proper handling. Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety. Willingness to work flexible shifts including nights or weekends.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, lift, and work in a fastpaced environment. Able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed. Ability to perform repetitive motions throughout a shift.
