Position Overview
Provide effective customer service and support through in-depth knowledge of company products, programs and services. Requires day-to-day communication with other employees and customers.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Communicate with customers by phone and text messaging software, enter data into the computer system.
Solicit future orders from customers and enter order into computer system.
Negotiate with customers' acceptable delivery times to prevent lost orders.
Document customer complaints and forward to Dispatch Manager and/or Sales Representative.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
Minimum high school/general education degree (GED) required.
Three to five years related customer service experience, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work Requirements
Communicate effectively with customers as well as truck drivers to dispatch orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Must provide excellent customer service by phone; scheduling and organizing large numbers of people and equipment efficiently and quickly.
Handle multiple tasks concurrently and perform under pressure.
Perform opening and closing procedures.
Must be able to act quickly and creatively to solve problems; work independently and make decisions.
Utilize GPS tracking software and enter orders into dispatch scheduling software; ability to quickly learn different software programs.
Strictly adhere to safety requirements, policies, and procedures as outlined in the employee policy manual.
Report to work at the designated start time.
Work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors/managers with other duties as required.
Available to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary. Reliable attendance is essential in performance of the role.
Travel and work away from home when necessary.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Extensive knowledge of Austin and surrounding areas.
Ability to read and understand maps.
Communicate effectively with a wide variety of customers and be an effective
Language Skills:
Must read, write and speak English. Bilingual English-Spanish preferred
Mathematical Skills:
Basic math required - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Must be able to work up to 50 hrs. per week every other Saturday.
