Job Overview: The IRC seeks a talented, results-oriented Director, Compensation, Benefits & Global Mobility to lead this key function in support of IRC strategy and mission. As an integral member of the IRC's HR leadership team, the Director will oversee the execution of IRC's global compensation, benefits & global mobility strategy, ensuring the organization remains competitive, equitable and proactive in the design and implementation of compensation, benefits and global mobility programs and policies to drive impact across our large, diverse and global organization. The director will have specialized experience with all aspects of international compensation, benefits, and global mobility, including expertise working on the integration of international and US programs, contributing to the design of compensation and benefits philosophy, strategy, plans and programs. The director will possess strong analytical and project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to operate with minimal direction. The director will stay abreast of trends in the US and international markets, network with other compensation and benefits professionals, and provide thought leadership regarding progressive practices to attract and retain the right talent for IRC.
Major Responsibilities: Develop and maintain an understanding of all aspects of IRC business: vision, mission, values, business objectives, economic drivers, organizational structure and culture. Ensure compensation, benefits, and global mobility philosophy, strategy and plans are aligned. Possess a deep understanding of progressive international compensation, benefits, and global mobility practices, including benchmarking, job evaluation, pay scale development and administration. Own compensation guidelines to ensure employees are treated equitably and fairly. The guidelines provide the philosophy, strategy and pay action eligibility and boundaries. Drive annual review, documentation and training of salary planning, working with country directors, executives and Finance to ensure plans are aligned with business objectives and are easy to administer. Drive the design of the benefits plans. Own the management of compensation programs and benefits, including the recurring administration processes that support those programs. Own the company's job architecture with an eye on simplicity and scalability. Ensure all employees are mapped accurately in Workday and various systems. Own all global mobility policy, practice and process ensuring that IRC is effectively moving talent around the globe, delivering appropriate assignment benefits and services and using IRC funding appropriately across all global locations. Lead, empower and mentor direct reports, including communicating clear expectations, co-creating performance objectives, providing regular and timely constructive performance feedback, and supporting their overall well-being and professional aspirations. Champion the adoption, effective use, and change management of AI tools building staff confidence and capability to integrate AI responsibly into daily workflows and driving sustained engagement with new ways of working Key Working Relationships

Job Requirements: Fifteen+ years of progressive professional P&C-related experience with a minimum of 10 years leading compensation, benefits or global mobility team in a global environment Experience with U.S. program design, regulatory requirements, market practices and delivery Demonstrated success in supporting key senior management and building strong, trusted relationships Experience with international compensation, benefits or global mobility in a nonprofit/NGO environment preferred Exposure to an executive compensation committee preferred Experience with global HRIS systems, specifically Workday, preferred Experience with U.S. labor unions and global unions/works councils, preferred Excellent management and leadership skills including coaching, mentoring, and performance management Ability to work, manage, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment; exceptional problem solving and decision-making skills needed Superb inter-personal, written and verbal communication skills with ability to collaborate across countries, cultures, and departments required Must possess a highly collaborative, inclusive, consultative, and resourceful workstyle that balances required compliance/policy enforcement with a steadfast commitment to client service and support Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills including detailed work planning and superior time management skills Limited travel required Compensation
Compensation: (US Pay Rate: $175,000 - $195,000/yr; UK Pay Rate: £85,000 -£100,000/yr ). Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
