2026 Volunteer Film Screener
santa fe film instituteSanta Fe (NM)
About the role
The Academy Award®-qualifying Santa Fe International Film Festival is accepting screeners for 2026 and beyond! With this new recognition from A.M.P.A.S.®, winners of SFiFF's Best Narrative Short, Best Animated Short, and Best Documentary Short awards may qualify to enter the Academy Awards® (provided the films otherwise comply with the Academy rules), and we look forward to receiving even more submissions in 2026.We are seeking assistance watching and reviewing all of these exciting new films. Potential screeners must be able to commit to watching a very large number of films in an extremely short period of time between February and September (with the bulk of screening between June and August), conveying their feelings in a concise and nuanced manner. It's a delicate, complex process, calling for the utmost discretion along with great taste and understanding of the SFiFF Film Program. Sound like you? Please Fill Out This Form. Thank you, SFiFF Programming Team
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
