The practice's IT team focuses on leading software product and technology due diligence across the entire deal lifecycle, from pre-deal reviews through post-acquisition implementation and performance improvement.ResponsibilitiesDefine objectives, scope, and approach for software product and tech due diligence engagements in consultation with the Managing Director.Lead teams in the execution of these engagements and actively participate in key client interactions, including interviews, interim updates, final readouts, and follow-ups.Oversee the development and management of the data request list, coordinating with bankers and clients to secure necessary artifacts.Guide detailed analysis of target organizations across product features, technology architecture, intellectual property, R&D organization, cost structure, and hosting infrastructure.Summarize key insights into client-ready exhibits and deliverables.Ensure the quality of deliverables and maintain robust day-to-day relationships to guarantee exceptional performance.Coach and develop staff, participating in recruitment, retention, and staffing decisions.Help evolve deliverables and methodology for the Software Product and Tech diligence offering.Lead business development activities with private equity funds and foster client relationships with key decision makers.Engagement TypesPre-acquisition buy-side software product and tech due diligence.Pre-transaction sell-side software product and tech due diligence.Pre-acquisition synergy and cost take-out assessment for roll-up and tuck-in acquisitions.Post-acquisition value creation and performance improvement for existing portfolio companies.Qualifications10+ years of professional consulting or relevant industry experience, with a minimum of five years consulting to the tech industry or specializing in software/tech-enabled services.Experience with private equity sponsors, portfolio companies, or transaction due diligence is desired.Exemplary oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to produce executive-level client deliverables.Track record of working with business leaders and private equity deal staff.Strong fact-gathering and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative.Prior software or product experience within a software organization or advisory firm.Experience designing and leading the execution of software product and tech assessments.Ability to translate technical insights into commercial implications.Bachelor's degree required, majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or another highly analytical field.Flexibility to travel at least 75% of the time.Your Journey at A&MWe prioritize an employee experience that fosters professional and personal development.
