Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Emergency Management Hazards Analysts to work in our Emergency Management organization. You will report to the BEA Emergency Management Manager. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Fallsfacility withevery other Friday off. You will serve as the Emergency Management organization as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide technical espertice to analiyse and develop hazards assessments and hazard surveys in accordance to DOE and operational requirements into effective technical solutions and work with internal organizations and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) to ensure support organizational and DOE Emergency Management requirements. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: Develop Emergency Planning Hazards Assessments, All Hazards Surveys, emergency action levels, and predetermined protective actions. Provide advanced technical expertise/advice in assisting management and incident decision making personnel in formulating strategies to safely mitigate an INL facility and sitewide emergency during an incident. Perform atmospheric dispersion modeling and provide dose assessments as part of the Consequence Assessment Team in the INL Emergency Operations Center and alternate emergency response facilities. Determine sampling protocol used to characterize any INL hazardous material release and direct consequence assessment activities. Assure the INL EM program is maintained in compliance with applicable federal regulations, DOE orders, and company procedures. Coordinate emergency preparedness and planning and response elements with other organizational functions including, but not limited to, environmental protection, safety and health, site services, fire department, medical, nuclear operations, and environmental management. Develop, review, and revise emergency management related technical and non-technical documentation, as well as other applicable company documents. Process document revisions through document control management systems. Assure consistent implementation of all EM program elements. Conduct and report on self-assessment of EM program elements and provide feedback for continuous improvement using established company lessons learned and issue management programs. Work corrective actions to full closure. Serve as a member of the INL Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and participate in training, drills, and exercises, and respond to actual emergency incidents.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field and 9 years of related professional service, or an advanced degree and 6 years of relevant experience. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship. Maintain Radiation Worker I Qualification. Preferred Degrees or Experience: Health Physics or Industrial Hygiene certificate preferred A Health Physics, Radiological engineering, or Nuclear engineering degree preferred.
Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds without assistance. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with the public is required. Job Information: The pay range for this position is Level 4 ($114,360 - $234,336). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
