About the role
Freshman Biology Laboratory Assistant The Freshman Biology Laboratory assistant helps ensure that the biology laboratories are organized, properly stocked, and maintained so the lab classes can operate efficiently and safely throughout each week of the semester. The student worker assists with laboratory preparation, set up, breakdown, inventory management, and general laboratory maintenance to support an optimal learning environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare laboratory materials and experiments. Set up and break down lab activities. Maintain lab organization and cleanliness. Monitor and restock laboratory supplies and specimens Spot check laboratory sections and confirm instructor needs are met. Adhere to safety protocols. Education Employment eligibility: Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred. Completion of Bio or Bio Sci I & II (or similar) with a grade of B or higher preferred. Responsible and conscientious work ethic. Responsive to emails and other work-related communications. Motivated team player. Observant and attentive to detail. Good organizational skills. Interested in biology and laboratory work. Occasionally lifting 25 lbs or less Typically standing or walking Outdoor exposure to weather Exposure to chemicals (infrequent)May be required asked to be on-call depending on interest, availability and academic schedule Working with dissected biological specimens (preserved)
