Job Description Job Description Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled Aluminum MIG Welder to join our fabrication team at a leading food equipment manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will have experience welding aluminum components with precision and consistency, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and adherence to industry hygiene standards. You will be responsible for welding aluminum parts used in food-grade equipment, ensuring compliance with sanitary design principles and company specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding on aluminum components used in commercial food equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
Ensure welds meet required strength, appearance, and sanitary requirements.
Set up and operate welding equipment, including torches, clamps, and jigs.
Inspect welds and perform necessary grinding or finishing to ensure a clean, smooth surface.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work area in accordance with food industry standards.
Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and assembly teams to ensure product integrity.
Adhere to safety guidelines, quality standards, and production timelines.
Document work completed and report any issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.2+ years of MIG welding experience with aluminum (preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment).Familiarity with sanitary welding and fabrication practices for food-grade equipment is highly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds.
Knowledge of proper welding safety procedures and PPE usage.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in the food equipment or sanitary fabrication industry.
TIG welding experience (bonus, not required).AWS certification or equivalent is a plus.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S workplace organization.
