About the role
Lucas James Talent Partners is partnering with a growing management and technology consulting firm to identify a Senior Consultant – Healthcare & Life Sciences. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced consultant who enjoys solving complex business and technology challenges, owning meaningful client workstreams, and working directly with stakeholders across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem. This role is based in Chicago and is best suited for someone with a strong consulting foundation who can move comfortably between strategy, analysis, and hands-on execution.
What You’ll Do:
Own client workstreams and smaller projects from planning through execution, managing timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
Translate complex or ambiguous business challenges into structured analyses, recommendations, and actionable implementation plans.
Deliver hands-on analytical and solution work across healthcare and life sciences business and technology initiatives.
Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders and communicate findings and recommendations to leadership.
Apply data analysis, process mapping, strategic planning, program governance, and change management approaches to client challenges.
Develop polished client deliverables and contribute to proposals, SOWs, and other business-development efforts.
Identify project risks and resource needs early and work collaboratively with engagement leadership to resolve them.
Coach and support junior consultants while contributing to internal knowledge sharing and practice development.
What We’re Looking For:
4+ years of experience delivering complex business or technology initiatives; candidates with 8+ years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Healthcare and/or life sciences consulting experience strongly preferred.
Experience within one or more areas of the HLS ecosystem, including biopharma, biotech, medtech, health-tech, provider, or payer environments.
Demonstrated experience owning workstreams or projects within a client-facing, project-based delivery environment.
Strong capabilities in areas such as strategic planning, roadmapping, process improvement, program/project management, stakeholder management, risk management, or change management.
Experience analyzing data and translating findings into business recommendations; exposure to tools such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, or similar platforms is valuable.
Familiarity with healthcare or life sciences technology platforms such as Veeva, LIMS, CTMS, Epic, Cerner, Salesforce Health Cloud, AWS/Azure data platforms, or comparable systems is a plus.
Understanding of relevant regulatory and compliance environments, which may include HIPAA, GxP, 21 CFR Part 11, or healthcare data integrity requirements.
Bachelor’s degree required; relevant advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Ability to travel up to approximately 50% based on client needs.
Location & Work Authorization:
Candidates must be based in the Chicago area or able to work from Chicago as required for the position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. Why Consider This Opportunity? You’ll join a collaborative consulting environment where Senior Consultants have meaningful ownership over their work rather than simply supporting larger project teams. The organization offers exposure to complex healthcare and life sciences engagements, direct interaction with client leadership, opportunities to develop junior talent, and the ability to help shape a growing practice. Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
