Position Overview
As the: Risk & Claims Manager, you will oversee the administration and resolution of vehicle accident claims, property damage claims, passenger incidents, and other insurance-related matters. You'll work closely with insurance carriers, legal teams, drivers, and operational leadership to ensure claims are investigated thoroughly, documented accurately, and resolved efficiently. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously. Key Responsibilities of a Risk & Claims Manager: Claims Administration Manage all vehicle accident, liability, property damage, and injury claims. Review incident reports and supporting documentation. Coordinate claim submissions with insurance providers and third-party administrators. Track claim status and ensure timely resolution. Maintain accurate claim records and supporting files. Monitor claim outcomes and identify trends. Incident Investigation Investigate accidents, injuries, and operational incidents. Gather statements, photographs, reports, and supporting evidence. Determine facts and identify contributing factors. Work with operations and safety teams to ensure complete documentation. Recommend corrective actions when appropriate. Insurance & Risk Management Serve as the primary point of contact for insurance-related matters. Communicate with adjusters, attorneys, and insurance representatives. Review coverage issues and assist with claim determinations. Help reduce company exposure through proactive risk management practices. Identify trends and recommend strategies to improve safety and minimize losses. Communication & Resolution Communicate professionally with drivers, employees, passengers, claimants, and external partners. Provide updates regarding claim status and resolution timelines. Address questions and concerns related to claims and investigations. Assist with settlement discussions and documentation as needed. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the claims process. Reporting & Compliance Maintain detailed records of incidents, claims, settlements, and claim history. Prepare reports for leadership regarding claim activity and trends. Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance requirements, and applicable regulations. Support audits, legal requests, and risk management initiatives. Assist in developing procedures that improve reporting and claims handling efficiency. Qualifications of a Risk & Claims Manager: Required Experience in claims management, insurance administration, risk management, fleet operations, or a related field. Strong organizational and investigative skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to analyze information and make informed decisions. Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience handling auto liability, transportation, fleet, or commercial insurance claims. Knowledge of insurance policies, claims procedures, and investigation practices. Experience working with attorneys, adjusters, and insurance carriers. Background in transportation, safety, compliance, or risk management.
