Position: Real Estate Associate/Counsel
Location: Manhattan, New York City
Experience: 4-8 years$275,000-$350,000A highly regarded New York law firm is seeking a mid-level Real Estate Associate with 4-8 years of experience to join its sophisticated and entrepreneurial Real Estate practice. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in commercial leasing and general real estate transactions, with additional exposure to data center leasing considered a plus. The practice handles a broad range of sophisticated matters, including commercial acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, borrower-side real estate finance, development and commercial leasing, representing both middle-market and larger clients.
The Opportunity: This is an opportunity to join a highly sophisticated Real Estate practice with an entrepreneurial culture, where associates work closely with Partners and are given meaningful responsibility from the outset. The role is for Associates, with potential for Counsel positions for more senior candidates. The firm have a billable hours target of 1800 and a performance based bonus scheme.
Key Responsibilities: Assist with acquisitions and dispositions of commercial properties across New York, Florida and the West Coast. Conduct real estate due diligence, including lease review and abstracting. Draft and negotiate commercial loan documentation, primarily on behalf of borrowers. Assist with construction and development financing, working alongside zoning counsel, architects and general contractors. Draft LLC and other joint venture agreements. Advise corporate clients regarding company-owned and leased real estate.
Ideal Candidate: 4–8 years of real estate experience at a law firm. Strong commercial leasing and transactional real estate experience required. Stable employment history. Excellent academic credentials from a U.S. law school required. Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Excellent client-facing and communication abilities. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
