About the role
We are looking for a Buyer/Purchasing specialist to support procurement activities for a contract position based in Texas. This role focuses on sourcing materials and services, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate purchasing records to help keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate brings strong pricing, order management, and vendor relationship experience, along with the ability to work effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full purchasing cycle, from preparing requisitions to issuing and tracking purchase orders for materials and services.
Build and maintain productive relationships with suppliers, serving as a key point of contact for order status, contract terms, and issue resolution.
Compare quotes and negotiate competitive pricing to support cost-effective purchasing decisions while meeting business needs.
Review customer pricing and internal purchasing data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with approved terms.
Use Viewpoint Vista and related systems to generate purchasing documentation, update records, and monitor procurement activity.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to confirm specifications, delivery expectations, and purchasing priorities before order placement.
Maintain organized documentation for vendor contracts, supplier communications, and procurement transactions to support compliance and reporting.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
