Remote Indirect Tax Specialist

Job Description:Propelis is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join the Corporate Tax team. The selected candidate will be responsible for annual reports, business licenses, and exemption certificate management. This individual will play a key role in maintaining the overall internal business relationship of the transactional tax function for the company.Pittsburgh, PA; Chicago, IL, or RemoteTarget Responsibilities:Prepare and file annual reports and business licensesAssist with monthly sales and use tax compliance responsibilities, as necessaryManage all exemption certificates requests from vendors and customersMaintain OneSource tax software (product exceptions, customer exemptions, rate overrides, material group mappings, etc.)Respond to tax authority inquiries and audits, as necessaryAssist with account reconciliations for various tax liabilitiesIdentify and assist with process improvementsEffectively communicate within the organization to facilitate informationRequired Experience:3+ years of previous administrative, customer service, tax/finance or relevant experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experienceHigh Proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, & Internet ApplicationsSAP or tax engine experience a plusRequired Skills:Strong written and oral communication skills, detail-orientedStrong interpersonal skills and work effectively with others to enhance a team environmentStrong customer service skills for both internal and external customersStrong desire to take on new responsibilities and exhibits behavior of personal accountabilityAbility to successfully complete multiple tasks within project timelines and work independentlyKnowledge or experience with data analytic or robotic platforms, a plusPhysical Aspects/Work Environment:Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk, hear and see.Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Ability to work in an open environment occasionally.* Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions.About Propelis: Propelis is a portfolio of global marketing services and technology companies with a combined legacy of 150+ years, 2,000+ clients, 9,000 employees, and operations across 30 countries. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. We are open to candidates in various states, with the exception of those residing in the following: AK, DC, ME, NH, NM, OK, HI, MS, MT, NV, NE, ND, SD, VT, WY, WVOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $53,000 USD - $63,000 USD annually.
