Chickasaw Historical Society CoordinatorWe are currently looking for a Full Time Chickasaw Historical Society Coordinator to join our Chickasaw Press Operations team located at the Culture and Humanities Administration working 8:00AM-5:00PM - Mo Tu We Th Fr.Summary:Coordinates all aspects of Chickasaw Historical Society (CHS) membership. Assists CHS board members with special projects, mileage reimbursements and other needs. Coordinates annual CHS conference and assists with production of the Journal of Chickasaw History and Culture.Responsibilities:Coordinates CHS membership, including communication, mailers, membership cards and all other membership benefitsCoordinates annual CHS ConferenceDocuments minutes for CHS board meetingsCoordinates caterings for CHS board meetings on a quarterly basisPrepares and submits mileage reimbursements for CHS board membersProvides membership status report at CHS board meetingsPromotes the Chickasaw Historical Society at various eventsAssists with securing articles and legal permissions for the Journal of Chickasaw History and CultureAssist operations team with daily operations, event coordination, and tradeshow opportunities, as neededPerforms all other duties as assignedCompetencies:Able to follow instructions, both written and oralAble to adhere to all scheduling and attendance requirementsAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all mattersAbility to work independentlyHonesty, truthfulness, reliability, accountabilityPrioritizes, meets deadlines and works independently in a high-pressure environment and uses appropriate judgement in upward communication regarding assignmentsAble to read, understand, apply, and retain knowledge of Chickasaw Nation, departmental, divisional and all other rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelinesCompetent and proficient understanding of programming languages, current Internet technologies, databases and operating systemsAbility to multitaskRelates problems and translates understandable solutionsWorks well within a teamOrganizational and time-managementAble to verbally communicate in a professional and positive manner with other team members, departments, guests and managementWrites effective communications with team, departments, guests and managementPrepares role specific reportsSkills:Essential: Basic Computer skillsMust be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of productsExperience:Essential: 1 year directly related experienceEducation:Essential: High School, GED or EquivalentNonessential: Bachelors Degree in directly related fieldNonessential: Bachelor's degree preferred in Business Administration, History, Native American Studies, Communication or related fieldCredentials:Essential: Standard Driver's LicensePass general background checkWorking Conditions:Essential: Pass pre-employment drug testWorks in an office settingSometimes lift and or carry up to 30 lbsTraining:It is the responsibility of each employee to attend required training for their position or profession as determined by their line of support (LOS) or the leadership of the Chickasaw Nation.
